HARDBALL HELP LIVE CHAT WRAP (8/30)

The Geek gives you the green light to dump Beltran for someone who will actually help you down the stretch.

Not much of a turnout in the chat room today. But we’re here for whomever needs us until the bitter end. Even if we forego the chats, you can always email us at thefantasygeek@gmail.com.  If you’re making a run at the playoffs in H2H or a money position in roto, see what other owners are thinking about as we head into Week 22. Just click on the link below to read a transcript of today’s chat. Since there wasn’t much activity, it’ll only take a minute.

HARDBALL HELP LIVE CHAT WRAP (8/16)

No one asked about Guillen going to SF, and rightfully so.

It was a slow week in the chat room. Si and The Geek tag-teamed it this week. We doled out advice on Nelson Cruz‘s hammy trifecta, the return of two top-tier 2Bers and some keeper questions. Plus, we answered questions about the new Dodgers closer, Posey’s power and Bobby V in Seattle. To read the transcript of this week’s chat, click the link below.

HARDBALL HELP CHAT LIVE at a special time

It was an early chat, but we had a good turnout and covered your concerns and questions. A few of ya were interested in Martin Prado. We figured out how to cover some injuries, ranked some players and figured out which two-start pitchers were a go for this week.  CLICK HERE TO REVIEW THE  CHAT.

A 'Stro No Mo'

The first half hour of the chat was eerily quiet, which can only mean one thing: technical difficulties. A lot you had trouble getting into the chat. We’ve had minor issues before, but it seems like this is the worst it’s been. We’re still available to help you out, so if you have a question, send it to me at thefantasygeek@gmail.com. Things should be back to normal next week. You can still check out the responses to the questions we did receive once the chat was working. Lots of interest in Jake Westbrook. Just click on the link below (hopefully the chat replay works!)…

Yadier Molina didn't show up for Sunday's chat.

Honesty, don’t bother. Unless you like to read what was the equivalent of crickets chirping. Not exactly our most bustling chat. Shout out to JJ for keeping me company during the chat. I was a beautiful weekend day in most parts of the country…not an ideal time to have a chat. But there’s an early game tomorrow, so we didn’t want to do it Monday, after many lineups were locked. Remember to set your lineup early this week, and look for the chat to return in full force a week from Monday. If you must, you can see how empty the chat was by clicking the link below…

Scott hasn't been "hot as a Baker," but he could prove useful with 2 starts in Week 16.

Everything’s back to normal in Week 16. You’ve  got most teams playing a full slate of games, plenty of 2-start pitchers and injured guys back in the lineup. Need help sorting it all out? Peruse the Hardball Help Live Chat Wrap and find out  about who we recommend you activate, pick up and trade. No one asked about Scott Baker, so I’ll give you my quick take now. He’s got some tendinitis in his shoulder, but he claims it’s not effecting his pitches. I’m starting him this week because he goes twice. It’s a bit risky, but that’s the style of play I like. Beltran's back, but is he worth starting in Week 15?

Get the scoop on the players trying to come back from injuries in the second half. From Victor to Tulo to Manny, we covered many of the big names. Plus, there were lots of questions about who to start in the abbreviated week: Jamie Moyer or Dave Bush? Kevin Slowey or Doug Fister? The Geek answered every question that came his way. And that info can still help you as your set your lineup at the last minute for this week. No one asked about Carlos Beltran, despite the teaser pic. So I’ll answer that one right now. I’m keeping Marlon Byrd in over Beltran this week in my 12-team mixed league. If you don’t have a replacement OF of that caliber, it’s okay to play him. The Mets play 4 this week, but keep  in mind, Beltran will probably sit one of those out. In a related story, Jeff Francoeur will be the biggest loser in the NYM outfield, since Angel Pagan is having such a good season. Okay, for more advice, just click on the link…
